On Saturday 21st July all the Karima Schools came together for the annual Sports Day celebration. Teachers, parents and volunteers worked countless hours with Primary, Secondary, Weekday and Boys Classes coming together for a fun packed day for all of the students. A team of alimiyyah students were also on hand and leading by example.
They enjoyed a number of different sports competitions such as archery, ji-jitsu, penalty shootout, sprints, three legged races, sack races, egg & spoon races and many more which gave all students a chance to win one of over one hundred medals that were given out on the day! Meanwhile many members of staff and the Karima PTA prepared food and drink for all to enjoy at the BBQ. Our wonderful PTA managed to raise approx £1,500 which will be injected back into the schools to further enrich our children's experience.
Many certificates and trophies were given out on the day for a number of different achievements and more were given in our annual Quran Khattam event a few days later.
Most of the amazing staff and volunteers were too busy to stop and notice what their hard work had achieved but it consisted of many smiles; much laughter and countless memories which will never be forgotten. JazakAllah to all of the parents and carers who joined us to celebrate the end of another year at the Karima Schools. We end the year as we started it, with our intention as our reminder:
‘I intend to study and teach, take and give a reminder, take and give benefit, take and give advantage, to encourage the holding fast to the book of Allah and the way of His messenger, and calling to guidance and directing towards good, hoping for the countenance of Allah and His pleasure, proximity and reward, transcendent is He.’ - Imam Al-Haddad
