For many of us, Ramadan comes and we push ourselves to complete a khatam of the Qur'an, and the sense of achievement is great! And its during this time that we set the intention to keep up the momentum and complete a khatam(s) throughout the year before next Ramadan.
But... as Ramadan ends, and normality sets in, where in Ramadan we'd find ourselves reaching for the Qur'an in every spare moment, now it slowly starts becoming more diffficult. Days and weeks pass, and slowly slowly the mushaf starts collecting dust.
We are now a mere three months away from Ramadan, and now is a great time to start easing ourselves back into the routinenof reciting the Qur'an, whether it's a Juz a day or a page, there is time to kindle the relationship so that when Ramadan hits we are raring to go!
Alhumdulillah, over the past year we have been blessed to have completed a guided reading of the Qur'an with Shaykh Sulayman twice, and these videos are available here for motivation and guidance.
Lets make our intention, work out our schedule (make it realistic, and be sure to add some contingency to keep yourself motivated), and do our best to stick to it.
And inshaAllah we'll be welcoming Ramadan with a Qur'an khatam.
