Mental Health
Karima have a number of initiatives aimed at supporting people in our community with mental wellbeing.
This is inline with our continued efforts aimed at addressing the health gap that impacts the people of High Wycombe. Currently we have two exciting projects that are being launched:
1. Two part funded scholarships for the Cambridge Muslim College Islamic Psychology Diploma. We would like to fund two individuals to partake in this diploma and then give back to the community via counselling, volunteering and research. It is vitally important to Karima that we empower people to pursue Islamic academia and contribute to the service of the religion.

2. Culturally competent mental health support. We understand that the NHS is under severe pressure with waiting times for mental health support being extremely long. Therefore Karima are collaborating with Healthy Minds to bring mental health services into the community. This partnership aims to bring professional services to the local community delivered by culturally competent counsellors who understand Pakistani/Muslim culture and environment. There are a variety of ways people can benefit including group sessions, 1 to 1 talking therapy or cognitive behavioural therapy - online or in person.
